Hi guys, welcome back. I LOVE to oil my hair, not just to nourish and bring some life back into it but also as a way to relax and de-stress. I use heat on my hair daily (I’m sure I’m not alone here!) so applying oil regularly helps me to maintain the shine and health of new hair that is growing. Let me just say, my hair isn’t perfect. In fact I have a lot of dryness and damage in my mid-lengths and ends due to continuous heat and colouring over the years. I don’t claim that this is an overnight miracle cure for dry hair or long hair, but when used regularly (I use it weekly) you will notice a difference.
However, I have tried a lot of hair oils and have come to love this mix that I am showing you today. I feel the addition of the hibiscus oil really helps to speed up my hair growth and leave me with shiny, glossy hair after washing. I do also like to add a conditioning hair treatment onto my mid-lengths about an hour or so before washing. This helps to repair any damage. I would definitely recommend you get hold of the hibiscus oil and try it. But if you don’t have access to it, just use the other oils in this video. You will still see a healthy shine after washing your hair.
Some of the benefits of using these oils on your hair include:
Coconut oil – An all-round amazing oil for hair and skin. It adds moisture, stimulates hair growth and promotes good scalp health. It also prevents breakage and split ends and add shine, lustre and softness to the hair.
Almond oil – Contains Omega 3 fatty acids which nourish and strengthen the hair. It’s great at treating hair loss, damaged hair and preventing white hair. A lot goes a long way with this oil which also leaves your hair feeling silky smooth.
Castor oil – Accelerates blood flow to the scalp which in turn fastens up the speed of hair growth. It nourishes the scalp and strengthens the roots for healthy hair growth. Castor oil is very thick in consistency, so use less.
Hibiscus oil – This is great at accelerating the rate of hair growth. It prevents hair loss and reduces hair fall. It also makes your hair thicker when used regularly.
So give this a try and don’t forget to massage your scalp in circular motions to get the blood flowing and growth going! Feel free to leave the conditioner step out if you prefer, but personally I feel this also helps to prevent split ends and damage to the main bulk of my hair.
You will need:
1 Tbspn Coconut oil (melted if in solid state)
1 Tbspn Almond oil
0.5 Tbspn Castor oil
10 drops Hibiscus oil
Mix well, heat using a heat-proof bowl over boiling water (don’t microwave – all the nutrients disappear)
Apply to scalp and hair massaging well.
Add a leave-in conditioner / hair mask for 2 hours
Leave overnight ideally, or minimum 2 hours. Wash hair
For added goodness Dunk a microfiber towl in hot water and wrap this around you oiled hair for a deep heat oil treatment.
